skills training, vocational counseling,
job-seeking skill preparation and job placement assistance as well as English as a
Second Language

Community Employment Services:
The supported employment program places developmentally disabled individuals in positions with an arrangement
whereby training and ongoing supervision are provided by ARS staff who remain on the job until the
disabled person is able
to perform according to the employer's standards. Companies that are interested
in the supported employment program can ask
for an individual placement or for a group of four to
eight developmentally disabled individuals plus a job coach, who is
paid by ARS.
Designed for consumers who are ready to transition out of the sheltered workshop environment, and
for individuals referred
to our program from state agencies, ARS community employment services include:
Individual Placements matching consumer skills to a specific type of labor market
through partnership with local community businesses.
Work Groups giving consumers the
opportunity to work outside of the workshop facility while still receiving on-the-site job coaching from ARS staff.
