Ben is a partner at the law firm of Allen Matkins LLP. He represents employers in a range of employment and labor matters, including those involving alleged wage and hour violations, workplace safety and health violations, employment discrimination, workplace harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, and disability accommodation. These matters include litigation in both California state and federal courts, and they involve single and multi-plaintiff lawsuits, as well as a wide range of class, collective and representative actions.
Ben also counsels and represents companies and nonprofit organizations in actions and investigations brought by various state and federal agencies, such as the California Department of Industrial Relations (including the Division of Occupational Safety and Health and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement), the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and the US Department of Labor (including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Mine Safety and Health Administration).
In addition to litigating cases, Ben provides advice on various labor and employment issues as well as training for employers on a variety of topics, including sexual harassment prevention, workplace safety and health issues, and wage and hour compliance.
